Joseph J. Papes entered on duty with the FBI on September 1, 1976, as a clerical intern assigned to the St. Louis Division.  In December 1979, Mr. Papes was appointed to a Special Agent position.  He has served in the New York, Chicago and St. Louis Divisions.  In September 2002, Mr. Papes was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent with management responsibilities of Counterintelligence, Computer/Cyber Crime and Office Security Programs.  In January 2007, Mr. Papes retired from the FBI after thirty years of service.

Currently, Mr. Papes is the Strategic Partnership Initiative Coordinator for the St. Louis Division of the FBI. 

The Strategic Partnership Initiative Program is a bureau-wide initiative designed to take a proactive approach on sharing information with private industry and academia to safeguard our nation’s intellectual property.  This program involves forming a partnership with businesses, universities, and research facilities to ensure that the United States maintains its technological and competitive edge.  Whether your company is involved with inventing, developing, manufacturing, testing, or maintaining U.S. technology, your partnership with the FBI is critical to protecting your economic interests.

Jennah Purk is President and Founding Shareholder of Purk & Associates, P.C. Always focused on examining issues from the clients’ perspective, she provides proactive and innovative solutions to complex tax, financial and general business concerns. Jennah specializes in closely held business and high-net-worth individual taxation services, estate planning, succession planning, stock option planning and IRS examination matters.

Jennah’s technical expertise includes pass-through entities and structuring merger and acquisition transactions. She works with venture capital, buyout, mezzanine and distressed-debt funds as well as companies backed by venture capital, each with a unique structure and its own set of challenges. Widely known for her expertise in these complex situations, Jennah provides solutions that close deals. Jennah is also widely known for her proficiency in the healthcare industry, and is the first CPA in Missouri to earn the prestigious designation of Certified Healthcare Business Consultant (CHBC).

Jennah earned her undergraduate degree from Auburn University and a Masters in Taxation from Fontbonne University. She is a member of the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants (MSCPA), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the American Society of Women CPAs and the Professional Women’s Alliance. She is also a member of the Medical Group Management Association, the Healthcare Financial Managers Association, the Missouri Health Care Association, the Missouri Association of Homes for the Aged, and the American Health Care Lawyers Association.

Jennah serves on the Board of Directors for St. Louis Bank, Edgewood Children’s Center and the Central Institute for the Deaf. Jennah was named to the “40 Under 40” Class of 2006 by the St. Louis Business Journal and is a 2008 graduate of the FOCUS Leadership St. Louis Program. She is a nationally renowned speaker and author of many tax-related articles.
